For you protection, please read the guidelines listed below:
No parent should be driving another student other than their own child on a field trip. (You fill out a form for this in your enrollment packets every year that covers you to do this). If you are going to be driving a student that is not yours, you must go through Human Resources to be fingerprinted, and TB tested. Once that process is done, then you need to keep on file in the PCCS office, a Volunteer driver form, along with a copy of your driver’s license, and current insurance. This form must be re-submitted every time the insurance policy is renewed (usually every 6 months, we will notify you)
We do not have any of these Volunteer Forms on file in the office for any of our PCCS parents. So please do not drive any students other than your own. This is for your own protection. If you plan to be driving students, other than your own, then you would need to turn in the Volunteer Driver Form. Again this form can only be turned in AFTER you are cleared with HR.
We would love to have some parents "jump through the hoops" to get cleared with HR, so we could utilized you to drive on field trips, if you are willing. The initial process can be grueling, but once the finger printing and TB testing is over, its just the Volunteer Driver form that we need to worry about keeping up to date throughout the year. If anyone is interested, please come to the office for a packet, or go straight to Human Resources and get started with them.
School Days are considered Monday- Friday, so even if a field trip is happening on a Friday, which is not a K-5 on campus day, it is still considered a school day. If it is sponsored by us, we’ve advertised it, gotten permission slips for it, etc. then the guidelines above apply.
